Much of my early professional work was as a photojournalist, and that ambition of telling a visual story true to life still comes through in much of the work I do. From mortality in Varanasi to escapism in the U.S.A., here’s a few stories.
A place can be beautiful, but it is the people you share an experience with that make it memorable. Out beyond the world’s responsibilities, people find freedom, and capturing that emotion is my favorite pursuit.
A concert hall is visual chaos, a festival a photographers funhouse, and the photo pit a place of prayer. Capturing the experience of music is one of the greatest challenges and joy’s a photographer can have. I’ve been lucky to experience it a handful of times.
People, as they asked to be portrayed. Portraiture is an incredibly intimate exercise in creativity, and I’ve had the pleasure of capturing some truly wonderful individuals in the spaces they feel most themselves.
