Personality and drive characterize both co-founding sisters and their company's name. It was important for the logo to visually embody the values they strive to instill in future consumers. With the illustration at the heart of the logo, we designer her to be at once tender, healthy, visually immersed in a natural space, and to appear comfortable there. The choice of a circular wrap for the company name as well as the dual circles is a reference to the cyclical processes of the natural world that kombucha participates in, the circles themselves representing the co-founding sisters as participants in that cycle as well.
In a back and forth typical of designing the logo of a new venture, the idea started with little more than a sketch in the margins of a journal. From there we knew that this Wild Woman had to be at the heart of the logo, somehow interacting with the product itself. A few vector sketches, revisions, and shortly thereafter the company name was the only element left to include.
